The first is to simply run any of the free scans for infections provided by known companies linked here at the site. If malware (adware, spyware, others) is found - you will want to install antispyware and use it from now on to get rid of and prevent infections. Secondly, for diagnostics you can browse our FAQ's page which lists malwares and what they do. This can aid in discovering what type of infection is present by the behavior of the malware. For instance, many unexpected pop ups is generally always n adware installation that may have installed as a drive-by or was bundled in some software download.
